The 5th Black Blockchain Summit is around the corner, and AfriBlocks will be hosting the Global Blockchain Career Fair during this year’s celebration of the summit. The career fair will be held at Howard University in Washington DC between the 23rd and 24th of September 2022. The career fair will bring together students from HBCUs and African Universities to meet with organizations and corporations in the blockchain space and discuss the roles that may be available for these students as these global organizations seek to expand their teams.
Speaking on the career fair, AfriBlocks chief of staff, Faith Gwara, said that “it is important that we provide students around the globe with the information they need about the roles of the future. As we transition to the era of blockchain technology, it is important that we make sure that professionals have the information they need to make the right decisions in their careers.” Some of the leading blockchain tech companies and experts will be in attendance at the career, and it will provide students with a unique opportunity to hear directly from the people that are hiring.
Students across all fields of education are encouraged to participate in the career fair as it will give them an idea of where their place is in the world of blockchain. Tongayi Choto, CEO of AfriBlocks, said that “students should take advantage of this opportunity. The Global Career Fair provides a rare opportunity for students to hear directly from those in charge of some of the leading brands in emerging technologies.” The career fair is free of charge and is accessible to anyone who is interested in learning about the different changes that will come in their careers as the technologies we use continue to advance.
The Black Blockchain Summit
This year marks the 5th anniversary of the Black Blockchain Summit, an event that has been successful in bringing tech enthusiasts of color together. The summit will be held over two days on the 23rd and 24th of September 2022. The first day will be fully virtual and the 2nd day will be in-person. Through the years, the summit has had over 1000 participants in attendance, and over 100 speakers have graced the black blockchain stage. The goal of the summit is to come up with innovative and lasting solutions, through emerging technologies such as blockchain, to the current challenges that are being faced in the world.
Blockchain technology, as one of the leading emerging technologies, will have a pivotal role to play across all sectors. Harnessing this technology and its potential can help bring about the systemic changes that are needed to influence the balancing of economical scales. This summit is one of the key steps toward fully harnessing the power of technology.
